It’s Sweet in Vermont!

Hello all, from sunny and snowy Killington, VT (http://www.killington.com)! Marc & I came up to ring in another year of my life – woo hoo! I know a lot of people grouse about the cold and snow and ice. And although we in the Northeast have been pretty slammed since the big blizzard in late December, I just can’t help but love it and embrace it. It’s the season of my birth, it’s fun whether you’re inside or out. It makes you feel alive!!!

When starting your day in beautiful Vermont, before you hit “The Beast”, you need a hearty breakfast for energy. We happen to be staying at a great dog-friendly place called Chalet Killington (http://www.chaletkillington.com/) which is on Killington Road in the center of the action and really close to the 3 base lodges of Killington – Ram’s Head, Snowshed, and K-1! Location, location, location. It also boasts an impressive breakfast, included in the price of your room, which is a good deal as it is. Not a bagel and a toaster, no. It is a wait-service made-to-order deliciousness that was such a lovely surprise when we came for the first time last year! Who knew?!

Yesterday it was blueberry pancakes and bacon with that decadent pure maple syrup. Today it’s what you see! Marc’s omelette of “the works” and my french toast, bacon, and cheesy scramble! And more of that syrup… yes!

I want to give a shout out to the fine folk at The Pickle Barrel’s Happy Hour (http://www.picklebarrelnightclub.com)  where the always fabulous and social-inducing Jamie’s Junk Show rocked the crowd (http://www.jamiesjunkshow.com/). No one does it better than Jamie and the boys!

And so it’s home-again, home-again, jiggety jog. It’s not hard to see why they say, “I LoVermont! 🙂
