Season 6 of GAME OF THRONES has been spectacular! Every episode has been rich and full in it’s own right without the need of a “bridge” episode. Yeah! After last week’s penultimate episode – I think I’ve seen it three times already – I wanted to celebrate the season finale with a couple of special snacks!

Game of Thrones is Game of CONES!!!! I’ve created sweet and savory pizzelles that can be filled with your favorite flavors!

Here’s how:

IMG_9851INGREDIENTS:
The Sweet Pizzelles:
• 3 large eggs
• 1-3/4 cups flour
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 1/4 lb butter, melted
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1 tbsp vanilla
IMG_9853The Savory Pizzelles:
• 3 large eggs
• 1/4 lb butter, melted
• 1 cup flour
• 1/4 cup romano cheese, grated
• 2 tsp baking powder
• 1 tbsp dried chives
• salt & pepper to taste

DIRECTIONS:
1) Make sweet pizzelle batter: Add eggs to bowl and whisk. Then whisk in sugar until smooth. Pour in cooled melted butter and mix. Add the vanilla! Stir in the baking powder. Mix the flour in well.
2) Make savory pizzelle batter: Add eggs to bowl and whisk. Pour in cooled melted butter and mix. Mix in flour. Add the remaining ingredients, mixing well.
3) Heat pizzelle iron. Add a teaspoon of batter to the center of each pizzelle. Cook according to your iron’s directions and your preference. It should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute.
4) Remove and immediately roll into a cone shape while they’re hot. Fill with whatever you like!

motherofdragonsjon-snowI was really riveted to two storylines the most – Meereen & Mother of Dragons and the North & Jon Snow!

To represent Meereen and all things Daenerys Targaryen, I’ve filled the romano chive pizzelles with red pepper and original hummus, then topped with chopped kalamata olives and some dragon’s breath hot sriracha sauce!

To represent the North, Winterfell, and all things Jon Snow, I’ve filled the vanilla pizzelles with wild blackberry gelato – to represent the wildings – haha, coconut gelato, and the popular candy (Jon) Sno-Caps! Hahahaha! I have to give my mother credit for that one and bringing them over!

I could have gone on and on but no one wants THAT long video and post! Please take up the banner and make more for the other places – a cone for King’s Landing and one for Braavos!

Making pizzelles is a lot of fun – they’re really quick and you can get very creative with the flavors!

Now that I’ve got the tastiest treats for Sunday night, let’s see how the season ends!
